Awakening Possibilities, Supporting Effectiveness

Consulting

Consulting services are of value when they enable leaders of organizations to achieve success. I do this by partnering with organizations to gain a realistic understanding of current leaders’ skills and abilities. The results partnered with how the organization’s systems support or hinder the achievement of desired results shows us how to collaboratively way forward.

In my consulting practice, I work with organizations that are going through change or will need to go through a change in order to maximize the quality of their services or products.  Leadership effectiveness and staff engagement are critical to the achievement of the goals that will allow this type of organizational growth.

There are a number of issues that may be involved, and discovering those issues requires asking critical questions including:

  • Are leaders struggling with new roles?
  • Are leaders being stretched in new directions?
  • Does your staff struggle with remaining engaged in work?
  • Are teams struggling to work effectively to produce results?
  • Is change coming so fast that your staff is struggling to adapt?
  • Are organizational systems supporting or hindering effective performance?

Together, we will find the effective intervention to move you and your organization forward.

Leadership Assessments

Assessment can be a great way for leaders and teams to gain insight into how their behavior and motivations support their success or create barriers that limit their results.  They can also support high potential selection and development.

Team and Individual Effective Assessments

I am trained and certified to conduct several highly effective assessment tools, including:

Leadership Effective Analysis

This analysis is a professional development tool that looks at 22 leadership behaviors.

The assessment covers how professionals behave and how their behaviors relate to the needs of each leadership role. (Individual and Team)

™ Trademarked assessments of Management Research Group

Individual Directions Inventory™

This personal and professional development tool provides information about motivations, preferences, and how each may affect the choices made in different areas of one’s life. (For individuals and teams)

™ Trademarked assessments of Management Research Group

Behavior Style Inventory™

This inventory is a quick self-assessment of one’s patterns of behavior.

Understanding behavior styles can facilitate making appropriate choices in future while interacting with others.

™ Trademarked assessments of Effectiveness Institute

Verbal 360

The Verba 360 involves 30-minute interviews with supervisors, colleagues, and peers to identify key strengths and developmental opportunities for success for each person and the team as a whole.

Team Effectiveness

High performing teams differentiate themselves by developing effective ways of working together that allow them to consistently deliver results.

I work with teams to increase their effectiveness by exploring how the team operates. We work together to understand how this specific team works together, its patterns and habits, and how team members are held accountable to each other and for results.

Then as a team we work toward building, maintaining and repairing trust.

Training

I focus on leadership training that is developmental, results-based and actionable.  I accomplish this with four key strategies:

Personal Development

Incorporating personal development plans so that each trainee has considered their personal skill level and made a commitment to personal development.

In-Class Learning

Incorporating in-class learning with on-the-job application assignments to integrate new knowledge into changed behavior.

Training Groups

By using training groups that work through the material together and can provide support on the job.

Accountability Buddies

By utilizing accountability buddies, who will problems solve, support and ultimately hold their partner accountable.

Supervisor Training Series

This is a series of five full-day programs that build knowledge, skills and a new supervisory mindset. Participants will shift from doing work as an individual to being responsible for the work and results of others.

I recommend that organizations provide the classes as a structured, integrated continuous series for best results. However, in appropriate circumstances, I will provide them individually.

The classes in the series are as follows:

Stepping Up to Supervisor

This daylong training explores the various roles, characteristics, and expectations of supervisors. We will study managing boundaries, balancing “being liked’ vs. holding staff accountable, building credibility, and learning the importance of setting clear expectations.

Participants will complete a Behavior Style Inventory assessment to understand how their behavior impacts the supervisory role.

Getting Result Through Others

In this daylong program, we’ll explore how to hold people accountable in a structured hands-on experiential day of skill building. We’ll learn effective delegation skills, effective feedback approaches for differing situations, and how feedback is typically received.

Performance Management

In this daylong program, we’ll review laws and regulations that influence supervisor performance management, the causes and interventions for suboptimal performance, the building of a pathway for appropriate and effective corrective action, and how to deal with difficult employees and their forms of resistance.

Building Engagement

This daylong training explores differences between employee satisfaction and employee engagement, and what strategies leaders can employ to build engagement.

Through class discussion and case studies, we will look at what leaders can do to build engagement and trust. Then we’ll do a deep dive into effective communication strategies that support achieving results while sustaining working relationships.

Coaching to Transform Performance

This daylong training is a hands-on experiential day of skill building. You’ll learn two coaching models. The first model is called coaching in the moment; a model that supports employee directed learning. The second model is a structured conversation over time to support employee development.

Both models employ the use of powerful questions as a way to tap into intrinsic motivation and  support self-accountability and achievement

Custom Leadership & Management Training

In addition to the supervisory development series listed above,  KCC is available to develop specific training on management and leadership topics that are tailored to the needs and goals of your organization.

Popular topics for custom training include:

  • Conflict Management
  • High Impact Conversations that support results and sustain working relationships
  • Building Influence
  • Overwhelmed- Time and Priority Management

Staff Retreats

KCC is available to co-design and facilitate off-site staff retreats for one or multiple days.

We partner with you to build team effectiveness by creating space for the team to learn and play together. We’ll work with you to define the goals for the retreat, then partner with you to create the programming and activities necessary to ensure your team gets the most out of the day.
